Initially founded with a focus on property revitalization, our journey took a turn as we recognized the integral role of design and construction in transforming spaces.
Transitioning into the design-build sector, we embraced a comprehensive approach to remodeling.
Today, we collaborate closely with homeowners, offering tailored solutions to their own unique home remodeling projects.

Jacob Hamilton
Jacob Hamilton is a visionary leader in the real estate and remodeling industry, serving as the CEO of Character Companies Inc. With extensive experience and a passion for property transformation, he has positioned the company as a premier provider of remodeling services in the Northern Virginia area.
Jacob’s journey began at a young age when he obtained his Virginia Real Estate license at 18, displaying early aptitude and passion. From Jacob’s entrance into the residential real estate industry to his retirement from real estate sales, Jacob transacted on close to 400 residential real estate transactions. Most of Jacob’s real estate career was spent working with institutional sized real estate investment companies and family offices, speculating on properties and performing financial analysis of what remodeling projects will yield the best return on investment for his clients. Jacob learned the remodeling business by assisting these institutional level investors and family offices in remodeling and repositioning their single family homes throughout Northern Virginia. As Jacob’s career progressed he began purchasing lots and homes to build custom homes on and or perform large scale renovation projects for his own rental portfolio or for speculative purposes. Jacob still actively purchases commercial and residential properties throughout Northern Virginia for speculative and income purposes.
Jacob’s expertise contributes to his ability to be able to advise homeowners on the best remodeling projects to perform with the highest return on investment. In his free time, Jacob serves the community as a mentor to local teenagers guiding on their own path through the journey of entrepreneurship. Additionally, he enjoys golfing, fly fishing and spending time with his dog, Greg and his soon to be wife, Claire.
Abby Atkinson
In the realm of design, Abby creates personalized, stunning spaces from blank canvases. Her designs seamlessly blend aesthetics and trends with functionality, creating environments that reflect her clients’ unique tastes and needs.
Beyond design, Abby transitions into the role of a project coordinator. She manages the practical aspects of projects, from liaising with contractors to keeping timelines and budgets on track. Their meticulous attention to detail ensures that every aspect aligns with the design vision.
Abby is known for her approachable and friendly demeanor when it comes to tackling problems or answering questions, she will certainly succeed in answering any questions you may have.
Will River Rosenfeld
Will thrives on meeting new people and expanding our network! He is very proud to have personally connected with over 2500 homeowners this summer to share all the great things our company offers. He stays focused on delivering top-notch results, one project at a time. Outside of work, Will likes to be casting lines while fishing or hitting the gym. These moments keep him refreshed and ready to tackle any challenge. We are excited to have his enthusiasm and dedication to every project!
Kara Jean-Baptiste
From initial sketches to finished construction, witnessing our team’s efforts come to life is truly rewarding. I take pride in enhancing our outreach through strategic website updates, showcasing our capabilities to potential clients. Every day presents new challenges, from logistics to creative problem-solving. Finding solutions that propel projects forward brings me fulfillment and drives our team’s success. In her downtime, she cherishes moments with her dog, Hendrix, the perfect escape to unwind and recharge outside of work.

Meet Greg Hamilton, our esteemed Outdoor Living Consultant at Character Home Services! As a loyal canine member of our team, Greg brings a unique charm and perspective to our outdoor projects. With a keen nose for sniffing out the best design ideas and a wagging tail for every client meeting, Greg’s boundless energy infuses every project with joy and tail-wagging delight. Whether he’s lounging in the sun, chasing squirrels for inspiration, or lending a paw with design sketches (or rather, paw prints), Greg’s love for the great outdoors shines through. With Greg by our side, we’re sure to create outdoor spaces that are as fun-loving and adventurous as he is!
